Our newly-formatted caregiver/child classes provide age-appropriate opportunities to explore the seasons through art projects, live animal visits, sensory experiences, stories, and more! Now held in the larger classroom in Heckscher Barn, we'll have more room for fun and exploration but still keeping our small group atmosphere and toddler-friendly atmosphere.

Weekly themes will reflect seasonal happenings on the farm and in the forest, so we'll explore pumpkins and squash, how animals prepare for fall, and changing colors of leaves! Please note, siblings who are in a baby carrier on a caregiver are welcome, but please make arrangements for any other siblings.

Members: $128 per child | Non-members: $158 per child
After-School Programs
After school programs are for ages 5-10

Fall on the Farm After School (EEF1)
Tuesdays, September 25 - October 16 (4 weeks), 3:45 - 5 pm

Discover what is happening on the farm as the fall season begins! See how farmers start to prepare animals for winter, visit the garden for any end-of-season harvest and learn what crops grow on Connecticut farms in the fall. Help take a goat for a stroll, decorate a local pumpkin, see how our spring and summer babies have grown, and use the fall apple harvest to make yummy treats. Class will be taught by two SMNC environmental educators and limited to 12 children for a small group experience. Meets at Heckscher Barn.

Members: $60 per child | Non-members: $70 per child

Wild Woods Adventure After School (EEF2)
Wednesdays, October 17 - November 14 (4 weeks, no class on 10/31), 3:45-5 pm

Our popular after school is back with a fall session! Explore the autumn forest like never before as we search for salamanders and snakes, work on our woodland fort, learn how to make fire, and more! We'll use our slack line in the forest, learn some basics of wild edibles, dig in the dirt, try out our new Adventure Trail, and discover our engineering skills as we make brush piles for wildlife. We'll test our outdoor adventure skills in a safe, fun atmosphere that will allow kids to challenge themselves while exploring our wild woods! Limited to 12 children for a great small group experience, so register early.

Members: $60 per child | Non-members: $70 per child
