Celebrate your birthday at SM&NC!
Let us help you celebrate your child's next birthday party at Stamford Museum & Nature Center. All parties take place in Heckscher Barn's Great Room and will be adapted to suit your child's age group. Programs are appropriate for children turning 3 years of age and older. All birthday parties include a one-day pass to SM&NC for all of your guests. Not a Member? Join today and take advantage of this unique benefit!
Fantastic Farm Party
This is our most popular birthday offering. Enjoy a private, guided tour of Heckscher Farm. Get to know our farm friends on a first name basis. Feel the feathers of our chickens, get a little goofy with our goats, say hey to our horses and help us set up their stalls for the evening. The tour lasts approximately 45 minutes.
Nature's Treasures
Learn about some of nature's wonders while participating in a scavenger hunt of our beautiful grounds. We will look for objects from nature based on clues we'll have at a series of stations along our nature walk. When we are finished, we will take our treasures and recycle them for future partygoers to enjoy. The nature walk lasts approximately 45 minutes.
Amazing Arts & Crafts If your child is a budding Picasso, then this is the ideal party for them. Materials and activities will be adapted according to your child's age group and will be based on the season. Each child will construct a memento using items found on the farm and in nature, such as wool, pinecones, seeds, leaves and so much more. The hands-on art project lasts approximately 45 minutes.
Animal Embassy
Naturalist Chris Evers offers a customized live animal experience that your child will not soon forget. Children are encouraged to touch and participate as they learn about some extremely beautiful creatures. The hands-on program lasts approximately 60 minutes. There is an additional cost associated with this party offering, please call for details.
Pricing
- $325 for up to 20 children, $5 for each additional child after that (45 total)
- $50 for half hour celebration extension (available on the first and last time slots of the day)
- A $100 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of booking to reserve your chosen day & time slot (cash, checks and major credit cards are accepted)
- If you are not yet a Stamford Museum & Nature Center Member, we can fill out a membership application and include that associated fee with your deposit
Party Details
- Parties are available on weekends in the Heckscher Barn Great Room
- Choose from 1 of 3 time slots:
- 9:30am-12pm
- 12pm-2:30pm
- 2:30pm-5pm
These times are inclusive of set-up, program participation (approximately 45 minutes), celebration & clean-up
- Maximum of 45 guests (includes children, parents, the guest of honor and his/her family members)

We Provide
- Experienced Museum Educator to lead program and answer any questions you may have
- Private party room with tables, chairs, private restroom and small kitchen prep area
- Full access to SM&NC exhibits and grounds for all guests
- Signage on the grounds directing your guests to Heckscher Barn
You Provide
- Refreshments and paper goods for your guests
- All decorations (no balloons, please...they may be dangerous to our animal friends)
- Birthday cake
- Up to 20 children to participate in desired Birthday Party Program
