Early Childhood Programs
Art, Nature and Me Preschool
For children who are three by December 31st of the September they enter we have:
- MWF mornings(9:00-11:45)
- MWF afternoons(1:00-3:45) - Limited openings available
- M-F mornings(9:00-11:45)
- TTH mornings(9:00-11:45)
For children who are four or five by December 31st of the September they enter we have:
- M-F mornings(9:15-12:00) or afternoons(1:00-3:45)
- M-F extended days (9:15-1:15)
- M-F afternoons(1:00-3:45)
Art, Nature and Me is a CT State Licensed Preschool. Children's preschool experience is enhanced by the museum's amazing site. We are a field trip!
Children learn by being active participants. Our preschool inspires creativity, promotes self-discovery, and nurtures an appreciation for lifelong learning. Our staff supports a child's sense of wonder and natural curiosity by providing hands-on experiences in our classrooms as well as outdoors in the natural world.

Click here for full schedule and registration form. | The goal of our three-year old program is to help children become part of a social group. They learn to take turns, wait, walk together as a group, listen to each others needs, listen to the teacher, share and enjoy the company of others. Four year olds continue to develop socially while their cognitive skills are further developed so they are prepared for kindergarten. Both threes and fours develop their cognitive, creative, physical, and emotional skills on a daily basis through our seasonal curriculum and interactions with their peers and teachers.
Our school year starts the Monday after Labor Day and ends the week before Memorial Day.
