Observatory & Planetarium Programs

Observatory
Open to the public: Friday evenings from 8 to 10 pm (Labor Day - May 1) and 8:30 to 10:30 pm (May 1 - Labor Day) weather permitting. The Observatory will not open if the temperature drops below 21 degrees.
Location: The Observatory is located behind the Heckscher Farm just off Scofieldtown Rd. Enter from Scofieldtown Road on Fridays.
Admission: Members: Free  |  Non-members: $3 Adults / $2 Children

Astronomy Nights: An Evening at the Stamford Observatory
Come join us for a NEW exciting series of Astronomy programs! Starting in January 2010, head to the Observatory on selected Friday nights for a real treat as we explore the night sky, planets, stars and more. Start by enjoying a presentation on a variety of fun and interesting topics, followed by a visit to view the night sky through our 22-inch telescope. Hours
7:00 – Open House & Presentation (rain or shine)
8:00 – Telescope viewing (weather permitting)

Members: FREE |  Non-Members: Adults $3, Children (5-17) $3, (3 & under) FREE
This program is not suitable for children under 5 years of age.

Planetarium
Second Sunday of each month at 3:00 P.M.
Location: Main Building
Admission: $3 Adults / $2 Children age 5 and up.

Each month in the planetarium visitors can enjoy a new topic that explores the mysteries and magic of outer space.
