Artist Teresa Barkley takes quilt making to new heights in this exhibition showcasing the best of her one-of-a-kind creations, executed over the last 35 years. Barkley's quilts, avidly sought by collectors, businesses, museums, and other cultural institutions, offer a running commentary on American culture and represent her brilliant, insightful take on current events.
With this exhibition, organized by guest curator Susan Isaacs, SM&NC invites its audience to revisit the world of quilting in a radically different way and to explore the possibilities of using cloth as a means of artistic and personal expression.
