Session 1: Wild Wonderful Water

June 28-July 2- FULL

Explore the wild, wonderful world of water and all that it has to offer! Search for salamanders in our vernal pools, spy some critters in our stream, and see if you can spot some turtles! We’ll explore the science of water and the water cycle, visit with ducks, frogs, and other animals that call the water home, and create some great outside art with water as our inspiration.

Session 2: Moo Crew!

July 5-9- FULL

Our most popular week returns! Join us for hands-on exploration and adventure on the farm. Meet the Heckscher Farm animals from chickens to cows, and everything in between. Discover the moos, baas, quacks, and oinks on the farm through stories and art. We’ll take a special look at the importance of cows learning about the many things we make from milk. Campers will also make some butter to taste. We want you to join the ‘Moo Crew”!

Session 3: Night and Day

July 12-16- FULL

Whooo’s out when the sun goes down? Discover the world of nocturnal animals such as owls and bats and how they do their job under the cover of night. We’ll learn about the phases of the moon and the pictures in the stars. We’ll have our own pajama day celebration, meet some of our favorite daytime animals, and make some art inspired by our nocturnal friends.

Session 4: Builders & Engineers II

July 19-23- FULL

Last year’s favorite returns! Kids are natural builders and creators! We’ll give campers a great week of building, tinkering, and designing both in the classroom and out on the trails. We’ll create some outdoor sculpture and recycled art, give kids free rein with loose parts on our outdoor STEAM trail, and discover how animals are builders too! Join us for a great week of exploration and figuring out how things work!

Session 5: The Forest is a Wonderful Place

July 26-30- FULL

“The forest is a wonderful place—I want to go there!”  Join us for an exploration of one of our favorite places as we search for critters under our magical trees! Build a fairy house or gnome house, visit the “rotten log hotel,” search for animal tracks, and, of course, show us your salamander face!

Session 6: Roots, Shoots, Critters & Boots

August 2-6- FULL

Get hands-on at Heckscher Farm! Discover what's growing in the garden and visit with horses, goats, chickens, and other residents of the farm. We'll get our hands dirty as we dig in the soil and learn about the roots, shoots, and fruits that grow in our gardens. We'll meet many of the animals that call Heckscher Farm home and discover the many things that come from the farm.

Session 7: Science Sleuths

August 9-13- FULL

Have your youngest scientists join us for a fun week of experiments! We’ll learn about simple machines by using a pulley, wheelbarrow, and corn grinder. Learn about what sinks and floats, make it snow in summer, concoct our favorite slime recipes and more! We’ll also discover how art and science come together as we create some amazing outdoor art.
