NEW! Animals in Motion: Can you hop like a rabbit or run like a deer? From hopping to flying to swimming, animals move in many different ways. We’ll meet some of our favorite live animals each week and explore how they move. We’ll also take a closer look at the parts that allow them to move—feathers, feet, fins, and more! Learn about the fastest and slowest animals on the planet, which ones move a lot and just a little, and test your skills with our Animal Olympics. Grades PreK-2.
Magical Beasts & Where to Find Them: From dragons to owls, delve into the world of magical creatures on our planet as we meet them up close! Explore amazing creatures from around the world and ones that live right in our own backyards. We’ll also explore some mythical creatures and create our own creatures too! Grades PreK-4.
Habitat, Habitat! Discover animals that live around the world and the many places, from deserts to rainforests, that they live in! We’ll explore habitats both faraway and in our own backyards through interactions with live animals and plants, real artifacts, storybooks, and crafts! Investigate habitats large, like our forests, or small, like a rotten log “hotel,” as we find out that everything “has to have a habitat to carry on!” Grades PreK-2.
Wild at Art! Our animals, from reptiles to rabbits and goats to geese, will be the inspiration for great age-appropriate art experiences. We’ll meet animals that live on our farm and in our forests, as well as animals from all over the world. Then with paintbrush, crayons, pencils, clay and recyclables, students will create masterpieces about the animals that we have learned about that week! Grades PreK-2.
Books & Beasts: Join us on a journey through our favorite children’s books and meet some animals right off the pages! Each week we’ll share a favorite piece of children’s literature, meet some animals that star in the books and create a themed craft to take home! From The Diary of a Spider to Giggle, Giggle Quack, we’ll meet all sorts of feathery, scaly, slimy, and furry creatures! Grades PreK-2.
Farmology: Have you ever touched a chicken, grown a vegetable, or heard what a goat sounds like? We’ll learn all about life on a farm and get to meet some residents of our farm too! Discover what products come from our local farms and why farms are so important. This program will feature live animals, hands-on projects, planting, farm-related arts and crafts, and more. This program must be held in a non-carpeted location. All grades.
Nature Superheroes & Underdogs: Did you know that the fastest animal in the world lives in our area? Or that some of the animals that people like the least are the most important? Learn about the ‘super’ plants and animals that live on earth and create some great superhero crafts too! We’ll explore the lives of snakes, spiders, insects, and other creatures that often don’t get the respect they deserve! This program will feature live animals, artifacts, plants, and arts and crafts. All grades.
Cool Concoctions! Discover the basics of solids, liquids, and gases, as well as what is in-between as we create our own flubber, play dough, worms, and more! We’ll also make some concoctions such as our own paint and try them out on great craft activities! This program recommended for a non-carpeted space! Grades PreK-2.
Slimy, Scaly, Ooey, Gooey Science: A hands-on look at all things slimy and gooey! We’ll explore herpetology, the science of reptiles and amphibians, learn about polymers by making our own slime, get our hands dirty by planting and meeting some worms, and more! Kids may discover nature’s recyclers, make recycled paper, explore the fungus among us, and more! This program must be held in a non-carpeted location. All grades.

Learn about the three types of rocks, which is best for the preservation of fossils, what types of animals parts fossils can be, and how those fossils form. Using real artifacts and replicas, explore how paleontologists figure out what dinosaurs were like. Grades K-3.
