SM&NC Receives New Canaan Community Foundation in Support of Special Needs Programming

Stamford, Conn. — The Stamford Museum & Nature Center received a $2,000 grant from New Canaan Community Foundation to help fund “Animals for All,” a free program series designed exclusively for neurodiverse individuals and their families. Launched in 2022 thanks to grant funding and community support, the SM&NC offers three different Animals for All program formats: Heckscher Farm Open Evenings, which allow families to explore the SM&NC’s beloved Heckscher Farm after-hours at their own pace, and the program duo Caring for Critters and Caring for Exotic Critters, which both provide opportunities to work with live animals in small group settings.
