Stamford Museum & Nature Center Hosts “An Evening with Lidia Bastianich”
On Wednesday, February 5, the Stamford Museum & Nature Center honored Chef Lidia Bastianich at its annual “An Evening with…” fundraiser in the Knobloch Family Farmhouse. More than 130 guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on the Overlook Terrace with Lidia, followed by a four-course dinner prepared by chef Andy Nusser of Tarry Lodge Enoteca of Westport, with wine provided by LaRocca’s Country Wine & Spirits.
At the heart of this magical evening, Lidia reflected upon her heritage and how it inspired her passion for food. “When you understand where food comes from,” she said, “then you understand how to respect and protect the source of your life.”
Through the generosity of corporate sponsors and individual donors, “An Evening with Lidia Bastianich” successfully raised funds to support the growth and reach of the SM&NC’s renowned educational programming in the natural sciences, enabling the nonprofit organization to increase the scope and number of those it serves, on-site and in classrooms throughout the community.
Stamford Museum & Nature Center is located at 39 Scofieldtown Road, Stamford, CT (3/4 mile North of Merritt Parkway Exit 35.) For more information call 203.977.6521 or visit www.stamfordmuseum.org.
